YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Ahmad Fuzi bin Haji Abdul Razak serves as a Secretary General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia. YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ bin Haji Abdul Razak serves as a Secretary General of WIEF. He served as an Ambassador-at-large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.
He started his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1972 and has held various positions, including Assistant Secretary of Administrative and Diplomatic Service, Second Secretary of Embassy of Malaysia in Moscow, Soviet Union, Principal Assistant Secretary (Political), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Counselor of Embassy of Malaysia, The Hague, Holland, Deputy High Commissioner of Malaysian High Commission in Canberra, Australia, Under-Secretary (Political – Europe and Americas), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Malaysia in Washington D.C., USA, High Commissioner, Malaysian High Commission, Dhaka, Bangladesh, Under-Secretary of South East Asia and South Pacific Division of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director-General of Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations, Prime Minister’s Department and Deputy Secretary General I, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ bin Haji Abdul Razak joined the Malaysian Diplomatic and Administrative Service in 1972 and served in various capacities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, mainly in the Political Division and at the Malaysian Missions abroad in Moscow, Hague, Canberra, Washington and Dhaka, before assuming the post as the Director General of the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations, Deputy Secretary General I (Political) and Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As Secretary General, he played a prominent role in organizing the Non Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit (2003), the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Summit (2003) and the ASEAN Summit and related Summits including the East Asia Summit in Kuala Lumpur (2005). He served as Malaysia’s Representative to the ASEAN High Level Task Force (HLTF) on the Drafting of the ASEAN Charter; Malaysia’s Representative to the High Level Panel (HLP) on the Drafting of the Terms of Reference of the ASEAN Human Rights Body.
He has been the Chairman of Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Bhd since August 1, 2016. Tan Sri Dato’ bin Haji Abdul Razak serves as the Chairman of Amanah Raya Capital Group Sdn Bhd. He served as Chairman and Executive Director of AsiaEP Resources Berhad since April 30, 2010. He served as the Chairman and Director of AmanahRaya-REIT Managers Sdn Bhd – Manager of AmanahRaya Real Estate Investment Trust from May 8, 2009 to December 31, 2016. He served as Chairman at Seremban Engineering Berhad until August 17, 2016 and has been its Independent non executive director since September 3, 2009.
He serves as Chairman of Islamic Retail Management Fund; Member of Board of Trustees at F3 Strategies Berhad; Advisor of The Guide to Malaysia Series; Member of Advisory Board of Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Award (APEA); and Advisor of Muslim World Search Engine (MWSE). He served as an Independent Non- Executive Chairman at Ranhill Energy and Resources Bhd. (now known as Ranhill Holdings Berhad) since January 2, 2013 and served as its Independent Non- Executive Director. He served as Chairman of AI-Nibras Limited. YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ bin Haji Abdul Razak has been an Independent Non-Executive Director of Puncak Niaga Holdings Berhad Since October 06, 2008 and Maybank Islamic Berhad since December 5, 2011.
He served as a Member of the Board of Directors at the Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA) and the Board of Advisors of the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations of Malaysia. He served as an Independent and Non Executive Director of LCL Corp. Bhd from February 25, 2008 to November 2009. He served as a Director of Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Berhad from April 15, 2002 to May 2004. He served as a Member of the Board of BERNAMA and PROTON. He served as the Board of Trustee of World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF); International Advisory Panel (lAP) of the WIEF.
In recognition of his service to the nation, he was awarded the AMN (1979), the JSM (1999), the DSPN (1999), the DMPN (2002) and the PSM (2003). He is also a Distinguished Fellow, Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS); Distinguished Fellow, Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations; Deputy Chairman of Malaysian Member Committee of the Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific(CSCAP Malaysia); Member of Board of Trustees, MERCY, Malaysia; Member of Advisory Council, Alliance Foundation; President of Association of Former Malaysian Ambassadors (AFMA) and Advisor of High School Bukit Mertajam Alumni Malaysia. YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ bin Haji Abdul Razak holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree from the University of Malaya in 1972 and completed the Foreign Service Course with a Certificate in Diplomacy from the University of Oxford in 1974.
