Butterworth, February 9-In conjunction with the Thaipusam festival, a pilgrimage walk that began last Tuesday from the Sungai Petani Mariamman Temple has reached the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Butterworth today. Devotees who traveled a distance of 130 kilometers were overwhelmed with spiritual bliss.

The leader of the pilgrimage group, Dr. K.M.S. Ramasamy, stated that this pilgrimage has been conducted for the past 46 years with the blessings of his guru, Swami Saravana Bhava Nanda Guru.

Devotees from across the country participate in this pilgrimage, with Sivananda Parahamsar Siddhar serving as a spiritual guide. To ensure the safety of the devotees during the journey, necessary attire, lamps, and other essentials were provided. Dr. Ramasamy further mentioned that his family has been organizing this pilgrimage with devotion for the past 46 years under the guidance of Sivananda Parahamsar Siddhar.

He also noted that the pilgrimage includes a Vel (spear), a peacock, and an image of the guru. The group is set to depart this evening from Butterworth Maha Mariamman Temple and will conclude the pilgrimage at the Nattukottai Chettiar Thandayuthapani Temple in Penang.
